On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Perdue appointed Cheri Beasley, a North Carolina Court of Appeals judge, to the Associate Justice seat at the North Carolina Supreme Court being vacated by Justice Timmons-Goodson (a story we previously reported here).
Judge Beasley’s appointment to the Supreme Court creates a new opening on the Court of Appeals that Governor Perdue will likely move quickly to fill.
We wish Judge (soon to be Justice) Beasley the best as she takes on this new role within our appellate courts.
