Unlike our North Carolina appellate courts, which issue opinions in periodic batches, the Fourth Circuit issues opinions almost every day.  This constant stream of releases is due in part to the high volume of cases that are decided without argument and without a published decision.

The Court has long made available an e-mail subscription service to help digest the Fourth Circuit’s release of opinions.

Now, the Wake Forest Law Review has launched a blog, descriptively titled “Collecting Cases,” covering published decisions from the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and updated daily.  The blog may offer a useful supplement for anyone following the Court.  We will keep an eye on the new Wake Forest blog and post links whenever something catches our eye.
