Justice Cheri Beasley unofficially won just enough votes to keep her seat on the Supreme Court of North Carolina.  The State Board of Elections’ website shows Justice Beasley leading her challenger, Mike Robinson, by 3,999 votes, or 0.16%.

Robinson, however, has the right to request a recount here, because the vote differential meets the statutory test:

one-half of one percent (0.5%) of the votes cast in the ballot item, or 10,000 votes, whichever is less.

N.C. Gen. Stat. 164-182.7(c)(2).  Robinson has until noon on November 18 to ask for the recount.  [This is the second business day after the “county canvass,” which occurs 10 days after the election, or November 14.]

We will keep you posted.
