Governor McCroy has appointed Guilford County’s Chief District Court Judge, Wendy Enochs, to temporarily fill Judge Martha Geer’s vacant seat on the North Carolina Court of Appeals.  Judge Enochs will serve until December 31, 2016.

Judge Enochs served as a District Court Judge for 21 years but had previously announced that she would retire on July 31.  Thanks to Judge Enochs for delaying her retirement to continue to serve her State for another five months!

A special election will be held in November 2016 to select a new judge to fill an eight-year term for the seat Judge Enochs now occupies.  Three people are running:  Donald Ray Buie, Judge Margaret Eagles, and Hunter Murphy.  Judge Enochs is not running.
