When I was a law clerk, I told my judge that I wanted to be an appellate lawyer. Her Honor informed me that there is no better way to get early-career federal appellate experience than to join the Federal Public Defender or the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Those appellate jobs can be hard to come by. But there’s good news: the U.S. Attorney’s office in Raleigh has just such an opening right now. Applications are due by October 11.

In case you were wondering, Her Honor was correct, as always. It’s not easy to jump right into appellate work in private practice. Our team here at Fox is definitely the exception.
