Judge Robert C. Hunter announced Wednesday that he will retire from the North Carolina Court of Appeals in 2014, after more than 15 years of service on the appellate bench.  At approximately 100 written opinions per year, Judge Hunter will leave the bench having written some 1,500 opinions.  We are certainly grateful to Judge Hunter for his distinguished service and wish the Judge the best.

To be clear, retiring Judge Robert C. Hunter is not to be confused with Judge Robert N. Hunter, Jr., who joined the North Carolina Court of Appeals bench in 2009.
